Paintings of “Bad Dogs” and “Wild Women” cover the walls of my art studio. This may seem like an odd
juxtaposition, for which my only defence is that these are the things that I love. My figurative “Wild
Women” portraits are playful, colorful and celebratory and my work is always evolving to capture the
essence of women. I specialize in painting women who are not models, but rather friends and family
looking to learn about and reveal secrets in themselves through having their portrait painted. As for the
“Bad Dogs”, what can I say? The love of my life is one very naughty pitbull-whippet cross who is my love
and long time muse.
I am a self-taught artist who has been working and teaching art for over twenty years. My award
winning work regularly appears in juried art shows and various West-Coast galleries. I live in East Sooke
with my husband and two children, who I have had the tremendous gift of homeschooling and co-
creating a creative life together.
